Orange and bread
It’s really funny looking at my JBQ’s face each time I eat an orange fruit. You see, I eat it with… bread and he can’t really comprehend that.
The novelty was introduced to me when I was about 12 years old, and my family had just moved from our mountainous village to a town in a valley nearby. There, we saw some people eating oranges (from their own orange trees) with some bread or bread crust. It looked weird to us too, but we gave it a try. It was actually very good, and since then I usually eat oranges accompanied with bread/crust.
Try it! It takes away a lot of the orange’s natural acid taste. It’s excellent as a 4 PM snack (just make sure you eat it with real bread, not sliced “soft crust” off-the-shelf bread).

People also look at you funny when you say orange juice is good with ice cream. But put some (vanilla) ice cream and orange juice in a blender and try it.
You know, if you take orange juice + ice cream, orange + bread, bread + egg…you could probably come up with a nice citrus french bread.
I’ve made a discover two days ago. Put a thin slice of orange over a little thin slice of home bread. Add on little of quince jam. It’s like a citric canape.
Pectin rules.
I like your diet recipes. Thanks!
