Google Mobile Maps for PPC
Posted on Thu 1 Feb 2007 at 4:56 PM PST. Filed under Mobility.
Google released today a native binary for PocketPCs and MS Smartphones for their Map service. It works admirably well! It even supports my VGA PDA in full resolution, so it’s a lot like having a VGA GPS device right in your PDA. Here is an app that exists as both J2ME and native, and it really shows how much better native apps are. It just works so fast and smoothly and with proper touchscreen support!

The cool thing is that it supports traffic reports, the bad thing is that it doesn’t have a “map+satellite” combined view yet.

A PalmOS binary is also available at their site.

Thsi is beautiful. I help out on all other programs because I wanted Googles. I’m glad I waited. It’s stellar!
Really cool applications. I’ve just test because of your Snapshot. It’s running fine on my HTC Blue Angel with a WM 2005 fresh upgrade…
