It always frustrates me that Hollywood can't imagine a world where there is no more government. . . that doesn't have random bands of thugs raping and pillaging. 15 YEARS after the electricity goes out and the best humanity can come up with is scrounging around for medicine and growing herbs out of the wrecks of cars? Before electricity there was order and structure. Industry and manufacturing based on steam. Trains, postal service etc. It was frustrating and a little depressing that they could only imagine this. . .strange. . . Escape from New York type. . . Mad Max world. :-(

After my supervisor at Dish showed me the a trailer I decided to watch the pilot when I got home. Even before I watched it I felt my nerd sense tingling but I watched anyways. The scientific inaccuracies are very apparent. One of my biggest quandaries is if they have lighting in “Bizzaro” world if they don’t have electricity. And why don’t combustion engines work? It really is a large hole in the plot, but I have seen instances where the pilot is very different than the actual season so I will keep my fingers crossed. I’ll just wait until there are some reviews so I can see if I would like to invest another hour. Now that I have the Hopper all of NBC prime time TV gets recorded automatically, so it will be ready if that day ever arrives.
