Chillwave is the first “internet” music genre. It has no city of origin like most others genres do. Being a true child of the internet, almost two thirds of all of chillwave (currently about 2500 songs exist), are legally-free to download. Here are the best free such songs out there. Please note that no mp3 is hosted on this site. Downloads are mostly from the 100% legal Bandcamp, and the well-respected Pitchfork/Stereogum music sites that host mp3s usually only after consulting with the PR/label/artists (Stereogum specifically used to have a disclaimer saying that their mp3s are all legal).
