Will the iPhone be undone by its keyboard?

Engadget posted this. I said it a thousand times in the past, and I will say it once more: the iPhone needs this before Samsung snatches them.

On a completely unrelated note, I moved to Camino 1.5 on my Powerbook. It seems to be snappier than Safari which lately seems to be corrupted here dragging down the whole OS.

Yes. I’ve had a razr for a few years now and it’s lack of tactile feedback drives me absolutely CRAZY to this day. The 5 key is slightly raised, and that’s the only orientation it offers. I cannot imagine using a phone that I actually have to look at to operate.

It will sell on cool factor alone though. I personally will wait ’til Gen 2 before ponying up hundreds of dollars for one. Any word on an SDK, or will they be iPod stingy with it?

Congrats for the move.

Eugenia, did you encounter any problems when viewing greek sites with Camino 1.5? The Intel-version of Camino seems unable to recognize the right encoding. For example, it is impossible to view correctly this page even if I set manually the correct encoding. This sucks. However, the PowerPC version on my old 12″ iBook works fine.

Haven’t tried yet. I only have a G4 Powerbook anyway, not an x86 Mac.

jayson: I have the razr3 as well, and I think the keys on this phone are the best I’ve ever used. No problem with tactile feedback at all.

The phone still sucks though.
