Getting Netflix

JBQ did our taxes today and we found that we need to cut a bit on our spending. We decided to cancel our movie subscription channels at the Comcast cable TV provider and that should be able to save us about $60 per month. Instead, we will go with Netflix’s $10 or $5 per month plan. The only thing I am a bit afraid is the “mailing back” thing which I am not sure how it will work with our mailboxes.

I wouldn’t say that there’s an immediate need to cut on our spending. We’re putting a lot of money aside every month. We’re just not keeping track precisely of how much money we actually spend (and therefore of how much we save), and there’s a small disconnect between the rough perception of how much we make and of how much we save, and we’re gonna try to track our expenses more precisely so that we can identify areas where we should be careful.

That being said, cutting down on the cable bill sounds like a good idea – I don’t feel that we’re getting enough value out of the movie channels.

You’re just doing your taxes today? It _is_ the deadline…

While it’s true that I filed pretty close to the deadline, the last few days have also been the ones where I’ve had the most “free” time since the beginning of the year. I feel better having done them at a time when I wasn’t horribly tired or stressed about work.

Look at the date, JBQ did the taxes yesterday (that’s 3 days in advance). We usually do paperwork close to their deadlines though as we both hate doing that stuff. Boriiiing….

Sorry, forgot that they changed the deadline to 17 April this year. But indeed, boring.
