World War III

If USA won’t change its imperalistic behavior (that has put into difficult position even its closest friends), within 20-30 years we will have to go through a WWIII. Chances are that USA won’t want to let go of its grip on power. And as Einstein once said “I don’t know how the third world war will be fought but I do know that the fourth one will be fought with sticks and stones.

Personally i think the biggest problem in world today is islam and what’t we are now seeing is the start of another cycle of islamic agression, one that repeats itself throughout history, the same that ended the Byzantine empire, that raged hundreds of years of wars in iberia, india, central asia, the balkans etc.
The fact that now it’s the US that is facing this, or how poorly they deal with it, is irrelevant.
People never see the big-picture, they just focus on the imediate, they simply want peace now without understanding the global geopolitical problems that appeasing islam would cause in the long term.
The fact is that if islamic expansion is not contained now it’s not even the US that has the most to loose, it’s europe that will go the way of Byzantine Empire.

Hugo, there are a lot of people who SEE the big picture and they do see the Islamic agression. But they also see USA’s agression too. Failing to see how the rest of the world is so extremely dissapointed with US right now, is a big mistake on its own.

I think the discontentment about the foreign US policy comes mostly from the war in Iraq plus the demagogical anti-americanism in the left-wing press.
Yes, the war in Iraq was very poorly conducted and Bush obviously isn’t very smart, but the thing is, before Iraq they were successful in Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, all of which are muslim countries and all of which are to some extent much better now. And at the time the US was heavily criticized and labeled aggressor for their intervention in these countries.

Yup, it’s kind of inevitable. The US will go through a series of 9/11-like events, and as an act of panic, many countrie will be attacked. As a result, Europe will try to severe itself from the US, in order not to become part of that conflict…Only to discover that by then, it’s too late.

Let’s just hope it happens when I’m dead and burried.

A lot of this will end when Bush is gone, if not in the fall when the some of the Republican are kicked out.

Europe has been the most developed continent ever since the Greek civilisation came up. To say that Europe will ‘go away’ is nonsense, at best.

We Europeans are tough. We have had the most wars, the most plagues, the most despotic leaders, you name it, and none of those destroyed Europe.

A few muslim extremists won’t either. Esp. since 99.9% of the muslim world means no harm whatsoever to other people, muslim or not.

The fact you have the audacity to compare Islam to Hitler says it all, really. Please, Hugo, go back to your fake democracy and hollow, televised religion.

We do know about this Adam, we are not stupid. I have written about ecology many times in my blog before. But this has nothing to do with WWIII. Even if there were only 10 people left in the planet, they would still fight. Even if they were one with nature. In fact, in nature only the strongest survives…

Adam wrote on September 28th, 2006 at 12:55 PM PST:

I think you all fail to see the BIG picture, the one outside ourselves, the fact that there are too many people in the world. The world is a limited space, and if we keep taking and taking from it there will be nothing left. I know this seems stupid and besides the point but just think about it. The world is nature. We are nature.

Why do you think we’re trying to create a habital enviroment in space…there is only so much natural resources on earth and we humans crave too much.

WE NEED TO SEE THAT EVERYTHING IS ONE, WE ARE NOT SEPERATE FROM THE WORLD, WE ARE THE WORLD. I think most people understand this in some way or another but we’re on a self destructive path and frustrated with what to do.

Polotics, religion and so on, are, in the face it, utterly trivial.
Sorry for seeming like I’ve strayed from your discussion but I get frustrated when people ignor this ultimate issue or are simply blind of it.
