US vetoes UN resolution urging end to Israeli attacks in Gaza

“The United States vetoed a UN draft resolution that would have called for an end to Israeli attacks and “disproportionate use of force” in the Gaza Strip as well as for the release of a kidnapped Israeli soldier.”

A great indication as to how USA is so in bed with Israel. I am appalled once again. Peace should have been the only goal of the most powerful nation in the planet. Update: Good editorials here and here.

The Jewish lobby in the US government is strong. Oh and of course, the arms lobby as well. They fair better on a war situation.

It’s a WAR, and in a war you can do one of two things:
1) Choose a side
2) Be Switzerland and shut the f**k up (a.k.a neutral)

Since i can’t shut the f**p up, i have too choose a side, considering Israel is the democracy there, and that the opposite side are bunch of extremists and terrorists that have started (and lost) all the wars since 1948 it’s preaty easy too choose a side.

This is the admin speaking...

I am sorry, but there is a 3rd option: peace.

Thom Holwerda wrote on July 15th, 2006 at 7:33 AM PST:

I was about to say. And the road to peace can only be achieved by treating both sides equally. This is currently not happening. If our governments do not stop siding with Israel blindly, we will never have peace in the middle east.

Hugo wrote on July 15th, 2006 at 9:08 AM PST:

Well you can’t choose peace, only the israelis and palestinians can. In this case the war could stop if the palestinians released the israeli soldiers.

Thom Holwerda wrote on July 15th, 2006 at 9:14 AM PST:

Hahahahaha sure, this WHOLE situation can be solved by releasing a few captives. Sure, that will make Israel stop illegally occupying land, and it will make Palestinian extremists stop killing Israeli children and women.

Sure. Dream on, boy. Did you know Bush said the exact same words you did at the pre-G8 meeting with Putin?

The land occupation is the outcome of several wars the arabs started and lost. What prevents the arabs from starting yet another war, perhaps NATO membership for israel would solve this >:)

Hey hugo, whos going to release the hundereds of arab captives? Huh?

Thats what they are asking for… A prisioner swap…

America is pathetic, they are a corrupt terrorist government themselves. The things that they have done all over the world over the last 50 years… SHOCKING.

Hugo wrote on July 17th, 2006 at 7:06 AM PST:

The only shocking thing here is people supporting terrorists and religious extremists.
I will support the arabs when:
1) There is true democracy on every state around israel
2) All terrorist organizations like hezbolah are disarmed and their members in jail
3) Women have the exact same rights as men
4) There is freedom of speech (remember the cartoons)
Until then i will support the only democracy there.
