The second season of ‘24′

My friend Billy was always boasting about how good the political thriller/action show “24″, and my brother did too. I always resisted it, mostly because I couldn’t stand of Kiefer Sutherland. This season we started watching 24 on Monday nights just because we had nothing better to do, and because the Las Vegas TV show that my JBQ usually watches moved to Fridays. We started watching 24 when it was already well into its plot, around episode 7 onwards. I quite liked it, but JBQ still resists it (not sure if he doesn’t like Sutherland too ;) ).

Billy said that seasons 2 and 4 are the best, so I decided to have a look at the second season. Wow! It blew me away. It is indeed a much better season than the current one, and I am thinking that the second season of 24 is as good as the first season of “Lost”. Very intense, very fast, very intriguing. Only the Kim Bauer sub-plot was too much over the top and too draged-along as far the main story is concerned.

Oh, and [after watching season 2,] Kiefer Sutherland is hot.

It’s all nothing to compared to Dead Like Me. I like the more stylistic atmosphere of DLM, and of course the indescribable sense of humour. Too bad the show came out of the US, so little time was given to the series to survive (too competative a market for les popular, but still good, quality TV shows to thrive). It would’ve been much better at home in i.e. the UK.

Shows like 24 and the likes try too hard to look ‘real’, but by trying that, they actually look so darn fake. DLM, on the other hand, is much more Tim Burton-ish, ‘who cares about reality, it’s all about atmosphere and humour’!

Now I only have two seasons. Luckily I still haven’t seen a second of the 2nd season. I hope I can find season 2 on DVD soon.

How can you say this if you have never watched either “24″, or “Lost”? There are good seasons and bad seasons for all TV shows, but the first season of “Lost” and the second season of “24″, for me, account for the best 2 tv shows of the *decade*.

I don’t like “Battlestar Galactica” because I find it too confusing and granded, “Invasion” is not as compelling — although still a good show. “House M.D.” is not a bad show either, it is very funny at times, but sometimes it feels repetitive. However, the worst “popular” TV show of the decade IMO, is “ST:Enterprise”. A total failure — when compared to its popularity among fans of the ST franchise.

I have watched 4-5 episodes of “Dead like me”. Very boring IMHO.

Funny thing… IMHO, 2nd season is worst one…

One thing’s for sure; the first season is the only one which feels real-time, all others (specially the second) feels like 2-4 days, because they tried to package much more action and Jack can even travel to different countries in just on chapter…

Well, after the first (amazing) season, it’s just a good action-package show… nothing exceptional.

You should try watch Prison Break too, it’s pretty good and has some smart design behind the lead character’s plans (probably should have ended around ep 13… but let’s see how they handle audien…. I mean, more episodes!)

You are mistaken, Jack does not fly on a different country on Season 2, it’s Season 3 that he does so. And Season 3 is the worst season of all.

>You should try watch Prison Break too,

I don’t like prison shows… Too depressing.
