Yet another new design

I almost completely rewrote the current blog design, I am much happier with it now. It’s a bit dark, I know, but I think it’s visually better than before. I believe that this is the last change I am going to do on this blog design…

I hope the divider graphic is not too much though… ;-)

– The search field is too close to the dictionary
– The bottom Eugenia needs some slack too or at least some balance with respect to the top one
– In “recipies” loose the second i
– The spiral image has a surplus pixel in the right side. I refer to the inside dark reflection. In fact if you would lighten up the midtones you could reduce visual resistance and allow visitors’ eyes to see the bar on the right.
+ It would be really cool if the folds on the pages were clickable. However they should as small they are now, visitors love discovering such treats.

And in demand:
– I really liked the thin stripes better. The new background has some ????at??a about it.
– And the spiral should really be on the left. The way it is right now places eye resistance that prevents people from looking at the right bar. Also random readers won’t think it’s a backpage. You can’t expect that much intelligence from visitors.

That’s on purpose. Both forms (search and month selection) are linked to the calendar.

> The bottom Eugenia needs some slack too or at least some balance with respect to the top one

I think it’s just fine. It’s a mirror to the top one in more than one ways.

>In “recipies” loose the second i

Done.

>- The spiral image has a surplus pixel in the right side.

I don’t see it.

>It would be really cool if the folds on the pages were clickable.

No, because the blogsome template that allows you to go “older” and “newer” posts are not always visible. It depends on the page viewed. And adding such links to these graphics would create inconsistencies and confusion because the template is not flexible enough.

>I really liked the thin stripes better.

I like both, but I find this one easier to see on non-LCDs.

>And the spiral should really be on the left.

Not if you are left handed as I am. ;)
